Dixon Skeen Merrill, age 62, died February 16, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dixon was born on November 4, 1940 in Salt Lake City to Taylor Hyde and Marian Skeen Merrill. Married Patricia Perry Merrill, Feb 3, 1960. Dixon graduated from Highland High School in 1959 and the University of Utah in 1963. He was a member of the Utah Humanities Council and interested in civic affairs and the environment. His professional career spanned banking, education and the travel industry. He traveled extensively in the United States and abroad. He was an actor and appeared in commercials, mini-series, and “Touched By An Angel”. Active in organ donor awareness programs; he had a heart transplant on July 31 1996. Member of the LDS Church. Survived by his wife, Pat; children, Diane Merrill, Salt Lake City; Allan P. (Tracy) Merrill, Westlake Village, CA; and Linda (Peter) Mullen, Summit, New Jersey. Devoted grandfather of Emily, Charlotte, and Amanda Merrill; James and Ethan Mullen. Also survived by his mother Marian; by three brothers and a sister, Taylor S. (Connie) Merrill, Joseph S. (Myra) Merrill; Marcia (Ronald) Wright; and Victor (Sylvia) Merrill.
