Lyman Skeen Freestone, 87, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010 at his home in Roy, Utah.
He was born June 27, 1923 in Oakley, Idaho to William and Eliza Lenora Skeen Freestone. He was the 2nd of eight children.
Lyman is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Arline Evans. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple on December 30, 1969.
He is further survived by his children: Lyman J. (Connie) of Clinton, LaVon (Bonnie) Bright, of San Dimas, CA, and Dixie Patterson of LaVerne, CA; seven grandchildren: Shelly (Kevin) Bitton, of Clinton, David (Janet) Freestone, of West Haven, Rebecca (Will) DeHart, of Syracuse, Shane (Heather) Patterson, of CA; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; his sister, Margaret Wingate of Roy; brother, Howard (Connie) Freestone, of Plain City; sister-in-law, Sharon Freestone, of Plain City; Jack (Marcia) Freestone, ID; and brother-in-law, Sid Tinsley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Jay, Gilbert and William; sister, Helen Tinsley; and granddaughter, Tina Sorrells.
Dad’s favorite childhood memories were spent in Plain City on the family farm. He lived in Clinton most of his married life while raising their family and a short time in West Covina, Calif.
Of all Dad’s jobs, his 20 years of driving the bus for Davis School Dist. was one of this favorites. The last four years were spent living and enjoying their new home in Roy.
Lyman was a faithful member of the LDS Church. He served as a member of the Bishopric and High Council. He also served and loved being a stake missionary.
Interment in the Plain City Cemetery.
