Clyde Skeen Marsden, 83, passed away peacefully January 30, 2006 in Murray, Utah.
He was born October 12, 1922 in Taylorsville, Utah to Clyde L. and Annie Ivy Skeen Marsden. He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret C. Holder on May 13, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a Bishopric counselor, Elders Quorum President, Stake Mission President, and many other priesthood and auxiliary positions. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army.
He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who spent many enjoyable hours with him. He will be remembered for his dignity, his kindness, his dry wit, his willingness to serve the Lord and others, and enduring to the end.
He is survived by daughters, Diane (Jesse W.) Burbidge, Murray; Renee (James R.) Lee, Salt Lake; and son, Brian (LuAnne) Marsden, Ucon, Idaho; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Hal (Faye) Marsden, Murray. He was preceded in death by parents; his loving sweetheart, Margaret; sisters, Marjorie Holder, Ruth Keddington and brother, James Marsden.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Murray Parkview Ward, 619 West 5750 South, Murray, Utah. A viewing will be held Sunday, February 5, 2006 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan, Utah and 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church before services. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
